Garrett Dyer is a dog trainer and instructor with over 38 years of experience in the field of search and rescue dogs. He has instructed a diverse group of trainers and handlers in search and rescue, law enforcement, field, and companion dog owners. He has instructed and presented at numerous seminars and conferences nationally. Garrett has responded to numerous missing person searches, HRD, and disaster missions both domestically and abroad. He specializes in teaching the concepts of motivational development that serves as the cornerstone for the working dog, and works with handlers on recognition of canine behavior, modification, and problem solving. Garrett currently participates as a judge in K9 Nose Work competitions, instructs handlers in canine detection, and remains active in assisting handlers in achieving training goals with their canine partners.

Garrett will be joining us again this year to work on topics decided by the participants. Working teams will be provided with a questionnaire upon registration. The information gathered will be provided to Garrett in advance of the seminar to help to plan out the day.
Saturday working teams are limited to dogs trialing at NW2 and below. Handlers trialing at any level are welcome to audit. Auditors will not be working their dogs.

Non-Member: $110
Lunch is not included in the above price. No refunds unless you find a replacement for your slot. Credits will be issued for all removals or cancellations of club members and refunds will be issued to all non-members in the case of removals or cancellations. A $10 service fee will be withheld on all credits or refunds issued.
Registration opens:
Members – Friday, January 9 at 8am
Non-Members – Saturday, January 10 at 8am
Priority for registration will be as follows:
1) Current instructors and current ODTC K9 Nose Work students (one priority registration per dog registered for classes Winter 2026)
2) Individuals who have volunteered at ODTC Nose Work/AKC Scent Work events during the past 12 months.
3) Past students who “graduated” from NW3 to Elite and are no longer able to take lessons at Oriole.
ONE working dog per handler per day.
