Saturday, December 17, 2022 10 am – 1pm Oriole Dog Training Club, Blue Room Oriole Dog Training Club is hosting an American Heart Association’s (AHA) Heartsaver course on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of the automated external defibrillator (AED) that we have in our building. This course is designed for anyone with little or no medical training or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency. It will also lead to AHA certification and will also serve anyone who needs a course completion card for their job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements. The course is provided for our active adult members only and is free of charge. The course will teach: · Adult CPR and AED use · First aid basics · Injury emergencies · Environmental emergencies · Preventing illness and injury Scott Goldstein, a certified instructor/instructor evaluator with Baltimore County Fire and Medical Training, will be instructing this course. Scott is certified as an instructor/instructor evaluator from the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute at the University of Maryland and as an EMTB evaluator from the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services and as BLS faculty with the American Heart Association. He has an extensive history in emergency medical services, including his current position as Captain in the Pikesville Volunteer Fire Co., as well as an EMT, first responder, IV technician, CPR instructor, and a Health & Safety Officer.
