Agility Distance Seminars with Debi Hutchinson – Saturday September 30, 2023

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2023– 8 working slots per seminar, limited auditors

8am-12:00pm • Novice/Open Distance and Layering

Come learn how and where to apply pressure to your dog’s line so that you can keep him/her out on a line away from you and get them to take the obstacles in front of them rather than having them turn into you avoiding what’s directly on their path. Learn how to deal with the tunnel/A-Frame discrimination. How to get them to get out on a line when you are layering a jump or an A-Frame. Start teaching them to work 15-20 feet away from you rather than running at your side. Jumps, tunnels, and contact equipment only. No weaves or teeters.

12:30pm-4:30 pm • Elite/Masters Distance and Layering

Learn how to keep your dog on an outside line while you layer jumps or obstacles in between you. Learn how to send your dog away from you. Where and when to apply pressure on a line to keep them moving forward and not turning into you and driving ahead. Learn how to layer an A-Frame even though you are sending your dog to a jump or the weaves on the other side of the obstacle. You don’t have to outrun your dog if you can work them on a line parallel to you. Come see how and where to apply your pressure so you don’t have to run every step of the course with them. Teach them to work 20, 30, even 40 feet away from you. Jumps, tunnels, contact equipment, and weaves.
