Learning from Current Events

No-More-Racism-Circle-PawHeart

Oriole Dog Training Club has always viewed itself as a welcoming and inclusive club.

Recent events occurring in society have caused the club to realize it needs to take a more active approach to ensure that a culture of inclusivity in the club is both explicitly stated and provided with guidelines for ensuring that the goals of inclusivity are met.  To that end, we are preparing to modify our bylaws to explicitly state the openness of membership for all.  In addition, we will be publishing a code of ethics to help educate and guide what an inclusive dog sport culture means for the members, judges, exhibitors and renters engaging in activities held under the Oriole banner.

Oriole has worked for many decades to support and broaden a wide range of dog sports to be inclusive of all dogs; we will be expanding that mission statement to ensure that all people feel welcome and judged only on their performance and behavior.
