Dumbbell 2018

This coming Friday’s agility run-through is cancelled.

On Monday, December 17th, Oriole Dog Training Club will host an Intermediate Handling Workshop with Donna Brown.

This workshop will concentrate on Intermediate Handling skills using jumps and tunnels. Participants should be preparing to trial.  Dogs should be comfortable with jumps and tunnels in sequences of 10-15 obstacles.

Online registration and payment is required. Registration opens Wednesday, December 5^th at 9am.

Workshop:     10 working slots, one dog per handler

Time:              6:30pm – 9:30pm

Cost:              Oriole Members – $50

Non-Members – $60

Audit – $20

Entries open on Friday, November 30,  2018 for Oriole’s AKC Agility trial held on January 25, 26 & 27, 2019 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, MD.  This is our annual trial in conjunction with the 2019 World of Pets Expo;  don’t just come for the agility – come for the shopping too!

Trial services are provided by Clantyre Show Secretary Services. The entry method is First Received.

Oriole is happy to host Emily and Stephanie Kaiser from Kaiser K9 for a half day seminar on training K9 Scent Work.  Emily and Stephanie have over 15 years of experience training dogs and working in professional scent detection.

When: Sunday, December 2nd, 2:00 – 5:00 pm

Where: Oriole Dog Training Club, 9 Azar Ct., Halethorpe, MD 21227

Cost: $45 for a three hour seminar

This informational seminar will cover the principles of scent detection and an overview of the training and preparation necessary to compete in scent work trials.  Taught by professional detection K9 handlers and trainers, the information presented in this seminar will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the “what’s”, “how’s”, and “why’s” of scent detection training.  Whether you plan to compete or are just looking for a fun game to play with your dog, this seminar will start you on the right path to success in training and competing in scent work!

Please note, this is not a working seminar, but rather a comprehensive training presentation for owners.

M. Nicole Fischer Photography is returning to Oriole Dog Training Club in Halethorpe, MD to offer indoor portrait sessions! For the first time, we’re opening sessions to folks who aren’t Oriole members, so feel free to share ! The dates are:

• Sunday, November 25, 2018 from noon to 7:30pm
• Monday, November 26, 2018 from 9am to 6pm

These aren’t holiday photos per se, but images will be delivered quickly and in time for holiday giving and card-making. And you can also make a few fun shots of dogs wearing scarves and hats — Nicole never gets tired of that!

Entries are still open for Oriole’s new December 1 AKC Scent Work trial.  This trial will close on Saturday, November 17 or when the entry limit of 120 is reached, whichever comes first.  You can find the premium list to enter on infodog.com or on our trial information page.

The August 2018 Artful Dodgers CPE agility trial is featured on the latest episode of CPEtv !    Watch as host Nick Sparks hits on the highlights of the trial held at the Oriole Dog Training Club, meets with the  local rescue group, the Animal Allies Rescue Foundation (AARF),  and explores some old and new landmarks in the nearby Baltimore area.  Enjoy !
